Valentine's Day Treats
Chocolate has long been associated with Valentine's Day, when lovers - old and new - celebrate by giving one another this well-known aphrodisiac. The Mayan civilisation were the first to worship the cacoa tree and to drink a spicy cocoa-based drink during their special ceremonies, while the Aztecs were the ones to officially recognise the xocolatl drink as an aphrodisiac. Monctezuma reportedly drank xocolatl at least fifty times a day and is supposed to have proclaimed that it was "the divine drink, which builds up resistance and fights fatigue. A cup of this precious drink permits a man to walk for a whole day without food".
Thus, with the 14th of February quickly approaching, we propose two wickedly delicious and chocolatey treats for you to make for your loved ones. Happy Valentine's Day!
